This two-day seminar provides attendees with a detailed introduction to lasers and their use in material processing with a primary focus on welding, and also provides an introduction to other related processes such as drilling, marking, cutting, micro-machining, soldering, heat-treatment, ablation, and metal deposition.
The seminar is designed for engineers and experienced technicians who are or will be dealing with laser processes from all aspects including design, selection of materials, manufacturing, process control, and quality. The seminar is not intended to learn how to setup, operate, or maintain the laser system. Topics covered in the training are as follows:
1. Light and Lasers
2. Types of Lasers
3. Beam Characteristics and Propagation
4. Laser Material Interaction
5. Welding Metallurgy
6. Pulsed and CW Welding
7. Laser Process Development
8. Laser Safety
